Project Manager

Job Duties

Project Manager – Primary liaison with clients, the project manager is akin to an account manager. PSM project managers work with creative resources at PSM to manage and drive results on outsourced marketing engagements. You will work directly with PSM’s President, Terrie. S. Wheeler, or Partner Michelle Wheeler to serve as the primary client contact – the “mortar between the bricks” – of PSM outsourced marketing, and in some cases, marketing coaching engagements. The project manager will be responsible for leading and guiding the following activities, based on the client’s strategic marketing plan:

  • Advertising – Coordinating any paid advertising clients pursue including
  • Associations – Helping clients leverage trade and professional association activities
  • Blogging – Manage blog writing (and posting) process; promote blogs on social media and in upcoming communications
  • Budgets – Managing the marketing budget and variance
  • Check In Meetings with Partner – Plan a regular, recurring meeting schedule with the partner you are working with to discuss and brainstorm client opportunities
  • Client Satisfaction – Client satisfaction and survey initiatives
  • Client Websites – Manage all website development initiatives
  • Copywriting – Provide guidance to PSM’s copywriting Team
  • Graphic Design – Managing graphic design team; communicating specifications and project requirements
  • Implementation of Plan – Driving results based on the marketing plan
  • Individual Marketing – Supporting individual professional marketing activities
  • Marketing Database – Create and manage the firm’s database (usually MailChimp, Constant Contact, or Zoho)
  • Market Research – Conducting market research projects
  • Meeting Management – Create all client meeting agendas, present at meetings, create meeting summary, drive action items and next steps with team
  • New Business Development – Supporting new business development initiatives
  • PowerPoint – Ability to work in PowerPoint, or manage the graphic designers to do so
  • Project Briefs – Create a project brief for any project involving multiple PSM resources (sample available)
  • Proposals – Assisting on proposal initiatives
  • Public Relations – Supporting the public and media relations efforts of clients
  • Referrals – Helping clients track incoming and outgoing referrals
  • SEO Liaison – Work closely with SEO team to direct new content needs to PSM writers, and to manage the implementation of other SEO recommendations
  • Social Media – Leading all social media initiatives including finding content, content calendar approvals, and posting social media content using Hootsuite or Buffer
  • Targeted Communications – Lead client and referral source targeted communications – manage writing design and distribution, create communication analytics and present to client
  • Timeline Management – Once a marketing plan is complete, the project manager will develop and implement a project timeline by project, by month – driving next steps
  • Website Analytics – Present analytics to clients from SEM Rush and Google Analytics
  • Website Enhancements – Coordinate website content additions with website developer and SEO team
  • Webinars and Virtual Events – Help clients coordinate webinars and other virtual events

PSM Partner Terrie or Michelle (depending on client).

Requirements

Copywriter

Job Duties

PSM Marketing works with copywriters on a regular basis to provide cogent, creative, and informative content for our clients. Our copywriters must be able to work with PSM resources to deliver strong content. Your team will often include project managers, SEO specialists, graphic designers, and website developers. Examples of PSM projects that require professional copywriting include:

  • Website content
  • Biographies
  • Print materials such as brochures, flyers, etc.
  • Advertisements
  • Newsletters
  • LinkedIn descriptions

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of English grammar and diction
  • Basic understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Ability to match the “voice” of a company
  • Adherence to agreed upon project deadlines
  • Ability to quickly understand and communicate complex business concepts

Graphic Designer

Job Duties

PSM Marketing works with Graphic Designers to create visual identities that showcase the unique work of each client. Graphic Designers contribute to every stage of the branding process, from the initial development stages to the final design. Our Graphic Designers must be able to work with the PSM team which includes project managers, website developers, and copywriters. Depending on the project, Graphic Designers are involved in:

  • Development of brand identity (logo, color palette, text style, images, style guide)
  • Development of print materials (business cards, letterhead, holiday cards, brochures, presentation materials)
  • Development of electronic materials (PowerPoint templates, proposal designs, PDF sell sheets, PDF biographies, etc.)

Requirements

  • Demonstrable graphic design experience
  • Strong understanding of design process print process and purchasing from vendors
  • Proficient in current design software (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Ability to gather relevant information and materials to create
  • Adherence to agreed upon project deadlines
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Ability to quickly understand and communicate complex business concepts
  • Flexibility with client preferences and able to handle rejection of ideas

Public Relations Specialist

Job Duties

  • PR Planning – Working with PSM project managers, develop a public and media relations plan designed to identify key media outlets, topics to pitch, other PR strategies to pursue, and tools for measuring the success of the PR efforts.
  • Drafting and Editing Press Releases – Many of PSM’s clients are renowned in their industries and often the subject of public recognition. Our Public Relations Specialist must be able to draft enticing, cogent press releases on behalf of our clients.
  • Drafting and Editing Pitch Letters – These communications should not be a mere recitation of fact. Rather, these pitch letters should paint a picture of who our client is and why they deserve publicity.
  • Distribution – The PR specialist should be able to create custom PR lists for each client (complete with up-to-date contact information). These lists will include journalists, bloggers, editors, and media relations staff. After drafting press releases, you will be responsible for sending drafts to the relevant project manager for review. Once the release is approved, you will be responsible for distributing to the relevant press contacts.
  • Media Follow-Up – Work with PSM and its clients to follow up with targeted media contacts to help PSM meet its goals of getting clients interviewed on TV or radio, bylining an article for a publication, securing interviews, getting clients on select podcasts and other positive media coverage designed to build PSM clients’ name recognition.

Marketing Intern

Job Duties

Work with the resources at PSM to oversee outsourced marketing initiatives for our clients. Based on your capacity, you will work with PSM’s President, Terrie. S. Wheeler, to determine which projects will be the best fit. Marketing Interns may be responsible for:

  • Developing monthly content calendars for PSM clients
  • Creating e-communications via MailChimp or Constant Contact
  • Managing contact databases
  • Updating social media profiles for clients (LinkedIn, Avvo, Facebook, etc.)

Requirements

  • Junior or Senior in college majoring in: Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Writing, etc.
  • Skilled in technology application
  • Is self-directed and highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Very strong writing abilities
  • Personable communication with clients and other PSM resources
  • Strong ability to multitask
  • Must be timely and dedicated to driving projects forward
  • Must have internet access and a dedicated phone line
  • Willingness to learn about new technologies and online services
  • Desire to go above and beyond by producing excellent work
