Leslie Gaffney, Project Manager

Leslie brings significant healthcare and financial industry experience to clients of Professional Services Marketing, Inc.  She blends attention to detail with a solid understanding of both the big-picture strategy and the bottom-line results on every project she completes for PSM clients. Leslie applies her communication, collaboration, and analysis skills to keep teams working smoothly and effectively, and is experienced leading large-scale projects and collaborating with teams of all sizes.

For the past 5 years, Leslie has been contributing to large-scale projects for her local community and school district, including managing a school board campaign, collaborating on a district-wide strategic research and analysis project, leading a new fundraising initiative that raised over $12K for her local school, and coordinating logistics for a resource pool of over 200 active school volunteers.

Leslie earned her MBA (Marketing concentration) from De Paul University in Chicago, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Indiana University.  Further examples of Leslie’s management and analytical experience over the past 15 years include:

  • Senior Business Analyst for Searle Pharmaceutical, collaborating with the sales, legal and senior management teams to perform research, analysis, develop contracts and communicate quarterly business reviews to enhance contract profitability. She also managed the annual rebate program, a $60M facet of the business.

  • As a Managed Care Analyst for BJC Health Systems, Leslie analyzed managed care data and developed new rates and reimbursement structures for all system hospitals and participated in contract negotiations to ensure profitability. She worked directly with patient accounting departments to implement contracts and improve efficiency, and created the company’s Managed Care Annual Report.

  • Leslie was a Pricing Analyst at Caremark, managing pricing activities and proposal production for a 200+ member sales force. She advised senior management on contract profitability, worked with clinicians and pharmacists to develop tools for case management negotiations, and trained field personnel, resulting in a 50% increase in their negotiation efficiency.

  • Leslie began her career as a Financial Associate at Baxter International, participating in Baxter’s elite Financial Development program, performing general finance and accounting duties at both the group and division levels of the corporation.
