PSM's Terrie Wheeler Receives Outstanding Volunteer Award from Milestone Growth Fund, May 2005

In May 2005, Terrie Wheeler was honored by Milestone Growth Fund and received its 2005 Outstanding Volunteer Award. For over two years, Terrie provided strategic marketing planning and implementation services to Milestone and some of its clients. Terrie currently sits on Milestone's marketing and development committees, and has donated over 100 hours of professional time to Milestone. Milestone CEO Esperanza Guerrero-Anderson said, "We want to recognize the outstanding marketing services you and your company have provided to us and to our clients. We strongly believe we are able to celebrate fifteen years in business because we have counted on your professional help and personal support."

Milestone Growth Fund is the only Minnesota venture capital fund that is focused on providing equity-type financing to minority-owned companies. It fills a gap in funding ethnic minority businesses by providing financing that is either too risky for banks or too small for other venture capital firms. In addition to capital, the company provides management services such as consulting on building a board to strategic planning and access to information sources and experts.
