COVID-19 Made Content Marketing the Emperor

COVID-19 Made Content Marketing the Emperor | PSM Marketing

For more than a decade, there has been a saying in marketing that “content is king.” It is still true but has been elevated to an even higher level. Thanks to the pandemic, content marketing has become the Emperor. And like the fictional Emperor, it needs new clothes. There is a simple reason for this. COVID-19 lockdowns blocked smaller businesses and professional practices from many of the traditional marketing and business development activities that generated new business in the past.

Don’t Let Your Content + Blogs Succumb to COVID-19 | PSM Marketing

It’s not easy to focus on blogs and adding new webpages when you’re working in your home with bored kids wanting attention, maybe a dog running around the house who also wants you to play or the cat deciding your keyboard is the perfect place to walk across, and when just going to the store for food can be a daunting task. But remaining pertinent and valuable to your clients is more important now than ever.

Content Marketing and Blog Trends for 2020 | PSM Marketing

Like almost everything else in business, there are cycles of what clients and customers want to read in blogs and in articles. In 2020, the most important development in content marketing trends is that the preferences of clients and customers are changing again. As a result, companies need to adjust their content strategy and approach […]

6 Reasons Why Content Is Too Important for Lawyers to Write

August 21, 2018 By Jim Bliwas

Content is about the music, not the words. That’s why it is too important to be written by lawyers and other professionals. It’s not that you don’t know your stuff; rather, it’s that you know it too well. As a result, few attorneys understand how to explain something simply in a blog, article or even […]

Why Case Studies Are Crucial on Websites for Professional Services

February 23, 2018 By Jim Bliwas

snowflake

Not many professional and financial firm websites feature them, which is both surprising and astounding. Why? Because on sites with easily-found, searchable and readable case studies, typically they are the third-most read items after a practitioner’s bio

Abby Hoffman Wrote Steal This Book; Here Are 5 Ideas PSM Marketing Should Steal From Products Companies

February 2, 2018 By Jim Bliwas

mountain lake winter landscape

A crucial but little-noticed article popped up briefly on my LinkedIn newsfeed recently. Were it not for the wind chill in Toronto that ranged from -20’C on a “mild” day to -30’ on others, I might have been out doing something more diverting and would have missed it entirely. The article lists 18 marketing trends […]

The 2018 Law Firm Outlook: Hot Practices and Marketing Trends

December 28, 2017 By Jim Bliwas

new years sparkler

A retired management consultant has been tracking emerging trends in the legal profession for more than 25 years. The fact that he wound down his practice has not dimmed his enthusiasm for checking in with law firms and networks, non-traditional providers of legal marketing services, legal departments, surveys and media that track the business of […]

Lawyers In Smaller-Midsized Firms: Clients Want Your Blogs To Be Longer

December 10, 2017 By Jim Bliwas

berries snow winter

Before I began working with law firms, I was an assistant editor of a Very Serious Business Newsmagazine where there was constant debate about the best length for a story. Other than the breaking news section, where articles were relatively short so all the week’s events would fit, the length of “back of the book” […]

Why Video Makes Sense For Financial And Professional Service Firms

October 31, 2017 By Jim Bliwas

Television elbowed its way into our homes in the 1950s and by the 1960s ‘most every North American home had at least one set. Since then, video has become part of nearly everyone’s life. Early TV was primitive. The first network news anchors sat at a desk reporting the day’s events without any dizzying graphics. […]

6 Ways For Midsized Firms To Land Larger Clients

October 23, 2017 By Jim Bliwas

summer-rocks-trees-river

This news ought to be deeply disturbing to managing partners and lawyers everywhere, regardless of the size of their firm: Attorneys in larger firms are losing their once-revered position as a business’ most-trusted advisor. Other professionals are edging them out, especially accountants and consultants. How did this happen? More precisely, why did lawyers let it […]

Professional services firms continue to grapple with how to effectively market themselves. Terrie and team are the answer - no need for expensive internal teams or junior-level people who don’t have experience when they can outsource their marketing and get personalized programs and coaching. The PSM model works.

I utilized PSM marketing for a website redo and student tracking system needed for a non-profit organization I work with. My experience with PSM Marketing was extremely positive. Our Project Manager, Michelle, worked with our board from start to finish and delivered a new website and student tracking system that works for our organization. This was accomplished at a reasonable cost, which is so important for a non-profit to consider. I have been equally impressed by the follow up support I have received. When I have a question or need support with our website or student tracking system, the PSM Marketing team is there to help. I highly recommend PSM Marketing!

I have been working with Terri and Professional Services Marketing for many years and every day they continue to amaze. Aside from their tremendous marketing and advertising skill and attention, the passion with which they execute plans and propose new ideas goes far beyond any other service company I have worked with during the 20 years I have been in practice. I have watched my office grow as a result of their marketing and advertising efforts and recommend them unequivocally to anyone who wants to improve their marketing efforts.

Ever since being introduced to Terrie & Kristy and their team at PSM Marketing, I have been so impressed and amazed at the level of service they provide to their clients. I've had the privilege of photographing many on their team and more importantly their clients. It is always apparent that the law firms that use the expertise of PSM clearly stand out from the crowd in their external facing presence!!!

What a terrific group! It took me some time before I was willing to accept that I needed their advice on marketing, but I am so glad that I did. Within 12 months, I saw a 50% increase in origination of new clients. I also improved the type of clients that were calling for legal services (that is, sophisticated users of legal services). I may have already had the legal skills, but PSM helped me build a successful practice. They are fantastic.
