Debra: Legal Industry Copywriter
Debra Holz is passionate about writing. By age 9, she knew she would be a writer when she grew up. As a child she wrote elaborate stories, or books as she called them, on scraps of paper woven together with colorful yarn.
Debra’s professional career began at 19 when she landed a job with a public relations firm in Century City, California, where she wrote press releases and nationally-published feature articles for celebrities. During that time, she earned a bachelor’s degree in English education and later studied journalism in graduate school.
Strong Journalism Background
After college, she was employed by major advertising agencies as a senior copywriter and creative director. An entrepreneur at heart, in 1985 she opened an advertising company that specialized in direct response marketing. Her expertise achieved direct results and profits for her clients, which included major national and New England corporations within emerging technological, legal, financial, educational industries and non-profits. In addition, as a freelance journalist she has contributed news and feature articles to several major metropolitan newspapers, most notably the Boston Globe and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Legal Industry Writer
As an experienced, SEO (search engine optimization) savvy legal industry copywriter and editor for over 20 years, Debra through her strategic content has directly assisted attorneys in increasing their client base, revenue, and profits. With a multitude of experience in almost all areas of law, she has created masterful copy on legal topics including but not limited to personal injury, wrongful death, class action consumer lawsuits, family law, vehicle and premises liability, medical malpractice, workers compensation, civil rights, constitutional law, disability law, sex discrimination, racial law, police misconduct, brutality, excessive force and harassment, jail reform, housing discrimination, wills and trusts, criminal law, bankruptcy, employment law, human rights, immigration law, ethnic hair discrimination in employment, securities litigation/FINRA, ERISA claims, arbitration mediation, succession law, and contracts and restrictive covenant law.
Besides advising attorneys about their critical need for coherent web page content, Debra promotes the importance of timely, relevant blog articles on their websites in her article “The Importance of Blogging for Attorneys.”
With decades in her profession, Debra has superior writing skills and enhances them with a unique, intuitive ability to “listen” between the lines of clients’ goals, creating content that educates and influences. These days, as a full-time web and blog page content writer, she creates compelling, credibility-building, meticulous copy for her clients.
