We Stand Against ICE: PSM Marketing’s Call for Justice and Community Solidarity

At PSM Marketing, we believe marketing and values go hand in hand. As a woman-owned, family-owned firm based in the Twin Cities, we are rooted in community. That community includes immigrants, refugees, and families from all over the world who make our state stronger, more vibrant, and more human.

That is why we are speaking out clearly and publicly. We oppose the unchecked abuses carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). We reject MAGA, ICE, tyranny, and racism in all its forms. And we believe that silence in the face of injustice is not an option.

Speaking Up Is a Moral Obligation

Professional service firms are often told to stay “neutral.” To avoid controversy. To keep politics out of business.

We disagree.

When government agencies act without accountability, when fear is used as a tool to control communities, and when people are targeted because of who they are, where they come from, or the color of their skin, neutrality becomes complicity. As a values-driven business, we believe it is our responsibility to speak up for our neighbors, our clients, and our community.

We Oppose Fascism. Full Stop.

At PSM Marketing, we oppose fascism in all its forms. That is not a partisan statement. It is a moral one.

At this point, there is no serious doubt about what MAGA ideology represents or where Donald Trump has led it. The hallmarks of fascism are no longer theoretical. They are visible and documented: attacks on the press, scapegoating immigrants and marginalized communities, glorifying state violence, undermining elections, eroding the rule of law, and fusing nationalism with religious extremism.

Fascism thrives on fear. It depends on dehumanization. It requires a constant “enemy” to justify cruelty and consolidate power. We see this clearly in the rhetoric and policies that target immigrants, criminalize protest, normalize political violence, and elevate loyalty over truth.

ICE has become one of the tools of that authoritarian project.

When armed federal agents operate without transparency, intimidate communities, and act outside meaningful oversight, that is not public safety. It is state violence. When political leaders encourage that behavior, excuse it, or weaponize it for power, that is fascism in practice.

As a business rooted in the Twin Cities, we reject this path entirely. We believe in democracy, accountability, and human dignity. We believe in pluralism, not Christian nationalism. We believe that no leader, no movement, and no government agency is above the law.

PSM Marketing will always stand on the side of people, not authoritarianism. Silence is how fascism spreads. Speaking out is how it is stopped.

We Believe in People, Not Persecution

In Minnesota, ICE is violating basic human rights every single day. Their abuses include racial profiling, warrantless arrests, family separation, prolonged detention, and collaboration with extremist and white nationalist movements. They are detaining US citizens, legal immigrants and asylum seekers, and people who are here with NO criminal record.

Organizations like the ACLU and Human Rights Watch have repeatedly documented ICE abuses that undermine due process and erode trust in public institutions. These actions do not make communities safer. They make them more fearful and less free.

In Minnesota and beyond, ICE activity has traumatized families and destabilized neighborhoods. These are not policy abstractions. These are real people with real lives who deserve dignity and safety.

Our Values Are Rooted in Justice + Community

The Twin Cities are home to some of the strongest immigrant communities in the country. Somali, Hmong, Latinx, Indigenous, and countless other communities shape who we are. We live here. We work here. We raise our families here.

At PSM Marketing, we believe in inclusion, equity, and democracy. We oppose Christian nationalism because it threatens religious freedom, pluralism, and the separation of church and state. We oppose racism because it dehumanizes people and corrodes society. We oppose ICE abuses because no agency should be allowed to operate without accountability.

What You Can Do

If you are feeling overwhelmed, you are not alone. The good news is that meaningful action does not require perfection. It requires participation.

Here are ways you can get involved right now:

  • Join or support Indivisible to organize locally and push back against authoritarian policies.
  • Attend a Constitutional Observer training through the National Lawyers Guild to learn how to legally document ICE activity and protect civil liberties.
  • Support local mutual aid networks such as Twin Cities Mutual Aid or Southside Harm Reduction that provide direct support to people most impacted.
  • Support organizations like COPAL MN, the Immigrant Defense Network, the ACLU, or your local immigrant justice groups doing frontline advocacy and legal defense.
  • Use your platform at work, online, or in your community to speak out against xenophobia, racism, and ICE abuses.

Collective action matters. Community care matters. Your voice matters.

Your Business Can Be a Force for Good

At PSM Marketing, we work with professional service firms that understand their brand is more than a logo. It is a reflection of their values. We believe businesses can and should contribute to a more just and equitable world.

Taking a stand does not weaken trust. It builds it.
