PSM serves a lot of financial service professionals and what’s unique about our business is Terrie and I both have very specific experience within the legal and financial services industry. And my background actually happens to be in financial services. I started in the industry in 1994 and have been actively involved in that industry ever since.
When we say financial services, we’re actually talking about generally financial advisors. That can be anybody from a registered rep to a CFP. We’re talking about accounting firms or accounting individuals and then a variety of other financial services professionals like trust professionals or business consultants that serve the financial services industry.
The way we work with financial services firms or individuals is really the same as how we work with our legal clients or any other professionals, which we start with the assessment and audit process and then we develop a strategy that’s very specific and customized to their firm or to their individual needs.
And then from there we just implement that plan using our team of marketing professionals. But the financial services industry, whether you’re a financial advisor or an accountant is very unique and the marketing skills that are needed within that industry is very unique, meaning that there’s often compliance issues that we need to help work through with our financial advisory clients and the accounting firm is also very unique because accountants really rely as all our professionals on referrals and getting referrals in from their existing clients and from their referral sources.
So we have to really have an understanding of what those referrals are, where they’re going to come from, what industries, and what clients. Those are things that Terrie and I have a very unique experience with and a deep understanding of how to make that happen for our clients.
